HCG and Clomid in males? I'm injecting 500iu Novarel (HCG) 3 x week and 25mg Clomid once per day. I'm a 36 year old male. The only thing i've noticed so far is a little extra body hair. My Testosterone levels were low (<200). How long does it typically take to get T levels back up to normal? I've been doing the HCG for 2 weeks and Clomid for about 2 months.
parke123_2000 replied: "I think your hcg dose is a little high. To mimic the bodys own response would be around 250 iu 3 times a week. As far as the clomid goes, I would bump that up to 50 mg a day(split). Lower your intake of sugar and carbs and I bet you see fast results. Good luck."
Anyone had success with Clomid for husband? Hi. I have heard conflicting information regarding how effective Clomid is in increasing sperm count/motility. Some websites say it is a very good option with great success, others indicate limited success.
Does anyone have experience with male Clomid use?
Thanks.
I don't need general information...I already have that online. Not to mention, two different doctors have given me conflicting opinions. We've been through six years of infertility treatments and I've done much research. It seems as though half the opinions say one thing and half the other.
I'm asking if anyone has had PERSONAL experience, as in if the husband took the drug, did it help, or not.
Thank you. :-)
() replied: "Clomid will increase FSH levels in women & MEN. In a man, FSH aids in the production of sperm. However, most conditions that cause male infertility will not respond to clomid. This is because a man with a very low sperm count likely has a condition where the "machinery" is not working.
So, no matter how much you tell the testes to make sperm with FSH, they just can't do it.
Yes my husband did take it and it worked. Good Luck"
Has anyone had issues with clomid affecting their bbt charts? I ovulate on my own, but am taking clomid to boost my odds because of a slight male factor. Anyway, this month my temperature hasn't gone up and I'm on day 27. What is going on?
Rocker Wife replied: "Ugh. I went through the SAME thing on my last cycle. I ovulate on my own too and took Clomid to give myself a boost after having a miscarriage. Look at my last chart, it goes on FOREVER. My current chart is starting to look the same. I should have O'd by now. Clomid can stay in your system for a couple of cycles, so I think I'm having the same problem as last cycle.
My suggestion is to go in for an ultrasound. If they see mature follicles you may need help ovulating (an hCG trigger shot).
Sorry this is happening to you. Clomid DOES delay ovulation for some women. I hope you O soon."
Has Clomid worked for anyone? My doc said they will put me on it. What are the side effects? I'm on Metformin now, do they work better together? I actually have 2 doctors who said they will put me on it. Female PCP says stay on the Met and take Clomid, male RE says stop the Met and take the Clomid. Any opinions? It might come down to what insurance will cover.
The doc who gave me the Met said I might have PCOS. One of my new docs says I probably don't. Utterly frustrating that no one can tell me one way or another.
mrs.stiltner replied: "Clomid is very inexpensive $15 at wal mart without insurance coverage. I did 50 mg clomid and 2000 mg of metformin I got pregnant the first cycle but miscarried I had two unsuccessful cycles and then on my fourth cycle I just used clomid and got pregnant with my son. Metformin can help prevent miscarriage so it's good to use it with clomid. I just had awful side effects from the metformin like stomach problems. As for clomid I get a little hormonal when I'm on it, mild cramps, sore boobs, but other then that I do pretty well on it. Good luck! I honestly think Clomid is a wonderful med for helping women who are ttc. Also I have pcos if that helps. I'm now on clomid ttc my 2nd and ds is almost 9 months old. I won't know for another week but I feel like clomid worked this cycle!"
~Mrs. Ferrari~ replied: "I would scrap both and get Vitex (aka Chasteberry or Agnus Castus). It's a wonderfully beneficial plant for women, whether they have bad PMS, menopausal issues, or fertility problems including PCOS. I used it to conceive this child! :) Plus no worries about insurance issues, and since it's natural your side effect risks are much more minimal. I recommend it to anyone!
**Mine was readily available at my local vitamin shop."
Hazel Eyes replied: "I TOOK CLOMID 50 MG AND CONCIVED FIRST CYCLE OF IT. I DONT KNOW WHAT METFORMIN IS BUT IF ONE IS SAYING ITS OK TO TAKE BOTH THEN TAKE BOTH IT WILL HELP YOUR CHANCE OF CONCIVING FASTER. ALSO IF YOUR INSURENCE JUST COVERS ONE I PAID FOR CLOMID OUT OF POCKET AND THE NAME BRAND COST 35 DOLLARS BUT THE GENERIC COST ALMOST 9 DOLLARS AND I USED THE GENERIC AND IT WORKED FOR ME SO DONT LET THE PRICE SCARE YOU HAVE THE INSURENCE COVER THE METFORMIN AND YOU PAY FOR THE CLOMID IF IT COMES DOWN TO IT SO TRY SOFT CUPS I USED THAT WITH THE CLOMID....
I LOVE THIS SITE THERE FAST SHIPPING AND CHEAP OVULATION TEST LIKE 1 DOLLAR FOR ONE CHECK IT OUT GOOD LUCK"
D replied: "It almost sounds like you have PCOS. I took both Met and Clomid and after 3 months worked great. I had a wonderful baby girl. So I would say it works pretty good. I didn't have any side effects but my friend did. I would suggest googling the side effects."
What side-effects to expect from the beginner cycle (Testosterone, Clomid, Nolvadex)? What side-effects could one expect from the de facto beginner steroid cycle? The de facto beginner cycle, and also the base of advanced cycles consist of Testosterone, Clomid, and Nolvadex. The beginner cycle prescribes 500mg/week for 10 weeks of testosterone enanthate or cypionate and Nolvadex daily. In the PCT, Clomid replaces testosterone while Nolvadex remains.
What good-effects and side-effects can a healthy 30 year-old Asian male (5'8"ft, 160 lbs, 20% bf) who has never used before expect from this cycle? What is the likelihood of male infertility as testosterone is known to suppress the HPTA-axis? Do you have any advice as to whether this is suitable for a beginner or should it be changed, perhaps add something else? The 30-year-old Asian male's goal is to become 170 lbs with 9%bf. Assume resistance training and diet are perfect and in place.
I hope the answers will be based on real-world results/experiences, not the media's caricaturization of steroids. Thank you.
Mary A replied: "I have done lots of studying on steriods throughout college and have found that it is just not good for you. Steriods can weaken your bone structure, weaken your immune system, and the list goes on and on.
Please do some more research about the side effects of short term and long term usage. You will find that they are adverse."
Rick Shaw replied: "At least you have done a little bit of research on steroids, but at your level of development, I think the risks outweigh the rewards. If your weight training and diet are in place, I would guess you could achieve the results you want in a year or less without steroids.
As a beginner, your gains will come quickly. Probably less quickly than you expect in the short run (since you are already considering steroids), but more quickly than you expect in the "long run" (about a 4-5 month period).
Most people I know who use steroids have been lifting hard for at least 10 years and had stopped making gains. They needed steroids to take them to the next level. Raw beginners and even intermediate lifters should not take steroids at all.
I hope you reconsider your decision. You sound like you would have the discipline to follow through with a program for 4-5 months. If you do, then I guarantee you will see results without steroids.
*Oh and if you want to read up on strength training and diet articles, go to t-mag.com. They have more info than you could ever use (check the archives)."
Success for Clomid and IUI with male fertility issues? My husband and I have been ttc for almost three years. I have suffered from fibroids on the outside of my uterus since I was 15. They have been removed and all systems are a go! My husband has a decreased sperm count to 10mil (reg 20), and low morphology 1% (reg 15%). The doctor is starting me on clomid around Feb 15th and then 1 insem....I'm really excited and hope that it works the first time but the more I read of it not working the more scared I get that I'm wasting money. I am 27 and my husband is 32...will I ever be a mom??? Any advice?
I am also going to try acupuncture.....does anyone under 30 have any advice or been through this?
Katie S replied: "I think that you'll be a great mom. Just get a good doctor and take care of your self and there is a chance that you might get pregnant, but I don't know the complexities of your health. If not, theres always adoption! If you can't concieve naturally theres other ways also.
Good luck and god bless you"
Anyone know about sperm production and Clomid/HCG? Anyone know of any males who have gone from having zero or low sperm count, taken HCG and Clomid and increased their sperm production?
Are there any physical signs that it's working i.e. increase in testicle size etc...?
Cydney F replied: "Hi.. Check out this web site we found great info from others to help us along.. be sure to look at the boards there.
good luck!"
Emma B replied: "My last b/f had a great production, there was so much i had to just grin and bear it one day. I used to help him produce it, it made my mouth ache sometimes."
norb4423 replied: "yes i did that and it worked out very well."
Tantrix replied: "hi
My suggestion is for your partner to start taking Vitamin C and Viatmin E, these are very important in sperm production. Rememeber to that sperm run on a 3 month cycle so that if your partner is ill it can take up to three months for the sperm to recover."
miss b replied: "do men used clomids?ha!"
